Antique garnet necklace/saucer with gold clasp

Antique necklace made of a single long strand of dark red garnets. A long necklace like this was once called a sautoir. With these long necklaces, the focus (through the sparkle and clink of the beads) was on the woman's hips. The necklace can also be folded in half once or twice. The clasp is worn on the side. Most of the beads are in good condition. A few beads show some signs of wear, making them 100 years old. The clasp is made of 14-karat yellow gold (585/1000).
