Antique necklace made of a single, long strand of dark red glass beads. The glass beads resemble garnet. A long necklace like this was once called a sautoir. These long necklaces emphasized the woman's hips through the sparkle and clink of the beads. The necklace can also be folded in half once or twice. The clasp is worn at the side. The paston clasp is made of 14-karat yellow gold (585/1000).
