Aquastar Genève Regate Newport Ref. 300-1144 Regatta Timer

Description

A true vintage gem from the 1980s: this Aquastar Regate Newport. The last regatta watch produced by Aquastar with an automatic movement was the Regate Newport, manufactured in the mid-80s.

This model is equipped with the same Lemania 1345 movement as its predecessors and utilizes the well-known case from the Heuer 134.50X series, in which Heuer also launched its regatta models in 1983. Thus, the collaboration with Heuer during that period remains evident. The silver and black dials are identical to those of the Olympic Start models, with only the name Olympic Start replaced by Newport here.

While Heuer released only two variants, Aquastar offered at least three different versions of this model.

This watch is in very good condition, with a tight and unpolished case. Only the bezel shows signs of use, with some of the gold-colored paint partially worn away. If desired, this can be restored, or polished entirely to steel.

Inside, we find the Lemania 1345 caliber, which is in very neat condition. The movement is clean, well-maintained, and runs perfectly and accurately as it should.

The steel bracelet is also in excellent condition, sturdy, without stretch, and suitable for wrists up to approximately 19 cm.
