AIG Laboratories
AIG Laboratories is an international gemological laboratory that examines and certifies diamonds, colored stones, and jewelry. At Juweelwinkel you will sometimes find pre-owned jewelry with an AIG certificate. This certificate provides additional clarity about the quality of the stone, in addition to the checks we already perform for authenticity and wearability.

Clear all filtersWho is AIG Laboratories?
AIG Laboratories employs a team of professionally trained gemologists and uses modern measuring equipment to accurately analyze stones. Each report is uniquely numbered and follows international grading standards. The goal: to provide a clear, objective picture of the properties of the diamond or gemstone, so that buyer and seller speak the same language.
AIG's reports are used worldwide in the jewelry and diamond industries. For you as a buyer, this means you're not just relying on photos and descriptions, but also have a technically sound document that records details like the stone's color, cut, and clarity.
Which certificates does AIG issue?
The most well-known certificate is the AIG Diamond Report. It records the well-known 4Cs (carat, color, clarity, cut), supplemented with details like dimensions, finish, and fluorescent behavior. This allows you to see exactly what the diamond's qualities are, even when viewing the piece online.
AIG also issues certificates for colored gemstones and complete jewelry. A colored gemstone report states, among other things, whether the stone is natural or synthetic and whether any treatments have been applied. A jewelry report describes the most important stones in the piece. There are also separate reports for lab-grown diamonds, so you can clearly see the difference from natural stones. At Juweelwinkel, all jewelry and watches are pre-owned, and each item is carefully inspected. An AIG certificate is a valuable addition, especially for jewelry with diamonds or colored stones.
