These earrings are beautifully detailed; the silver is patinated, giving it a blackened appearance. Even the back, the yellow gold, has a beautiful hammered finish. The earrings are set with a total of approximately 0.52 ct. of diamonds, two of which are cut in the Antwerp rose cut. The sapphires are the focal point of the piece and are marquise and pendeloque cut. A beautifully unique pair of earrings, crafted from 14-karat yellow gold (585/1000) and patinated silver (835/1000). What is silver patination? Patination is the natural or artificial discoloration of silver, giving it a dark, often grayish or blackish sheen. This effect occurs naturally through oxidation, but can also be intentionally applied to give jewelry or utensils an antique or distinctive look.
