Antique gold ring set with a baguette-cut emerald measuring 8.2 mm x 7.0 mm. The twenty rose-cut diamonds are set in silver, making them sparkle even more beautifully. The ring is fully engraved with patterns, giving it an antique look. A beautiful and classic piece of jewelry from the Victorian era. This luxurious ring is crafted from 18-karat yellow gold (750/1000). The rose cut originated around the 16th century, but it wasn't until 1919 that Marcel Tolkowsky devised a mathematical method for cutting round diamonds with 58 facets. Another interesting fact is that diamonds used to be set in silver because it added more sparkle. It wasn't until the early 20th century (around 1912) that white gold was introduced, and (brilliant-cut) diamonds were more commonly set in white gold.
