Long before the legendary Carrera, Heuer was already producing chronographs that are now among the most sought-after vintage watches in the world. This Heuer ‘Pre-Carrera’ Big-Eye Chronograph from around 1946 is a stunning example. A historic watch from the early years of Heuer, featuring a timeless look and unique provenance.

This piece, reference number 333 ATC, was directly purchased from a German collector. The classic chronograph layout, exquisite vintage details, and authentic appearance make this watch a remarkable collectible for enthusiasts of early Heuer chronographs.

What makes this piece truly exceptional is the complete overhaul carried out by TAG Heuer in 2019. An official factory service for vintage watches from this period is extremely rare. The complete overhaul is fully documented and comes with all accompanying papers and the original invoice of no less than €2,178. This not only provides extra assurance but also underscores the quality and originality of this special watch.

Internally, it features the high-quality Valjoux Cal. 22 manual winding chronograph movement, which is functioning excellently due to the extensive overhaul. The movement runs accurately and is in very good condition.

The original TAG Heuer croco leather strap with folding clasp perfectly matches the character of the watch and, like the entire piece, is in very good (almost new) condition. The strap is suitable for wrists up to approximately 20cm. There has been no compromise here.
