Description

The IWC Ingenieur Automatic AMG is a remarkable men’s watch that combines high-quality Swiss watchmaking with motorsport. This special edition arose from the collaboration between IWC Schaffhausen and Mercedes-AMG and bears reference number IW3227-03. An IWC Ingenieur clearly linked to high-performance engineering.

The Ingenieur has a special history within IWC. The collection was originally developed as a technical watch for engineers and scientists and acquired its famous new design in the 1970s by watch designer Gérald Genta. Later generations of the Ingenieur build on this functional and industrial character.

With a case diameter of 42.5mm, this watch has a powerful appearance, but due to the lack of traditional 'lugs', it wears surprisingly compact and comfortable on the wrist. This makes it a technically interesting design that stands out from other sports watches in this segment.

Inside is the impressive IWC Caliber 80111 manufacture movement. This automatic caliber is known for its robustness, shock resistance, and precision, thanks in part to the innovative Pellaton winding system. The movement has been thoroughly examined and tested and runs very well and extremely accurately.

The original IWC leather/nylon strap is in good condition, with slight wear on the inside near the clasp (common). The strap wears very comfortably and fits wrists up to approximately 20cm.

This piece is in very good and unpolished condition, meaning that the original case finish has been fully preserved, an important detail for collectors.
