Vintage gold brooch designed with Zeeland buttons. The brooch can be fastened with a pin and is made of 14-karat yellow gold (585/1000). Zeeland buttons are an important part of traditional Zeeland costume. Men often wore the buttons as throat studs (on the collar) and women as a bonnet bell, for example. They were made of bronze, silver, and gold. The larger the button, the wealthier the wearer.
