How does an automatic watch work?
An automatic watch doesn't require a battery. Instead, a rotor, a small weight that turns with every movement of your wrist, powers the movement. This rotor tensions the spring inside the mechanism, keeping the watch running as long as you wear it. If you leave it for a while, it only stops after a day or two. Simply wear it (or wind it manually) and it'll keep running.
